Candidate Forum Breakfast Scheduled for Sept. 18th, Ahead of November 2023 Elections

Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce Hosts Candidate Forum Breakfast

Williamsburg, VA - The Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce its upcoming Candidate Forum Breakfast, offering attendees an invaluable opportunity to engage with state legislature incumbents and challengers from the Greater Williamsburg voting districts. This moderated event aims to provide insight into the positions and priorities of candidates as they gear up for the November 7, 2023, elections for the Senate of Virginia and the Virginia House of Delegates.

The Candidate Forum Breakfast is scheduled to take place on Monday, September 18th, starting at 8:15 AM. The event will be held at Colonial Heritage, located at 6500 Arthur Hills Blvd, Williamsburg, 23188. Attendees will be treated to a full breakfast buffet beginning at 8:15 AM, followed by the moderated forum. Registration required.

With a focus on empowering the community with information crucial for the upcoming elections, the forum will cover the candidates vying to represent the greater Williamsburg area in both the Senate of Virginia and the Virginia House of Delegates.

In the Senate races, the spotlight will be on the competitive Districts 24 and 26. In District 24, Democratic candidate Monty Mason and Republican candidate Danny Diggs will share their visions for the region. Meanwhile, District 26, with Republican incumbent Senator Ryan McDougle and Democratic challenger Pamela Garner.

In the Virginia House of Delegates, the focus will be on Districts 69, 71, and 86. District 69 sees Republican candidate Chad Green running unopposed following the withdrawal of the Democratic contender. District 71 presents incumbent Republican Del. Amanda Batten and Democratic candidate Jessica Anderson. Lastly, District 86 features a match between incumbent Republican Del. A.C. Cordoza and Democratic challenger Dr. Jarris Taylor.

This event promises to shed light on the candidates' platforms, allowing Chamber members to make informed decisions on election day. The Chamber encourages all interested individuals to attend and actively participate in the democratic process.
